My friend Bill,welcome back

Good to see that you have chosen to share your insight and due
dilgence in finding stock frauds. I have a great return on
my short investments, and I must give you some credit for
my personal gains,

Your new short of Globalstar I must question.
GSTRF is not IRID. GSTRF is a CDMA based satellite phone system.
There are much better shorts than betting against Dr. Irwin Jacobs.

First Satellite Telephone Call Made Over Globalstar
Lab Call Over Satellite Validates Key Technological Features
NEW YORK - May 1, 1998 - Globalstar (NASDAQ:GSTRF) announced today the completion of the first telephone call made over the Globalstar satellite system.

Dr. Irwin Jacobs, chairman of San Diego-based QUALCOMM (NASDAQ:QCOM), placed the call on a QUALCOMM Globalstar handset and reached Globalstar chairman and chief executive officer Bernard L. Schwartz in his New York office. "This is the first official call over the Globalstar satellite system," Mr. Jacobs said to Mr. Schwartz, "and if we stay on long enough well be able to test the satellites beam switching capability."

Mr. Schwartz, commenting on the quality of the transmission, said, "This is better than cellular! Thank you for placing the first call to me. We've been looking forward to this moment for a long time." There was no voice delay or interruption throughout the duration of the four minute call.

The inaugural call was transmitted from San Diego to a passing Globalstar satellite orbiting 1414 kilometers overhead, and back down to QUALCOMM's Globalstar test-bed gateway in San Diego. The call was then routed to Mr. Schwartzs office in New York City via the local public switched telephone network (PSTN).

"This confirms key aspects of Globalstar technology transmitted over satellite," said Mr. Schwartz. "It thoroughly validates QUALCOMMs CDMA (code division multiple access) wave form, and the gateway infrastructure that QUALCOMM developed for the Globalstar system. The call was carried for the entire duration of the satellite pass, through multiple beam switching, validating the adaptation of CDMA technology to Globalstar service, including variable rate vocoders, the gateway software and switching technology, and the PSTN interconnect."

QUALCOMM, under a 1994 development contract with Globalstar, has primary responsibility for the development of the equipment and software for the ground segment of the Globalstar system using its CDMA wireless technology.

The Globalstar system, comprising 48 low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellites and a global network of ground stations, will allow people around the world to make or receive calls using hand-held, vehicle-mounted and fixed-site terminals. Globalstar will also provide data transmission, messaging, facsimile and position location services. Globalstar currently has eight satellites in orbit and expects to launch 36 additional satellites by the end of the year. Globalstar now has service provider agreements in 114 countries, covering most of Globalstar's business plan. Four Globalstar gateways are being used to control and test the satellite system, and site work and construction is under way at 20 more gateway sites around the world.

Hi, BW.

Very nice to see you back. Also a great idea to streamline the valuation/action criteria.

There is a stock named Scandinavia AMEX: SCF ($57). Have you ever looked into it? A very narrow stock, but it is getting "ripe". Would you consider a rating?
