You miss the point. You said that you were for supporting the Taiwanese because they are freedom fighters. I then gave you examples of other freedom fighters who logically you should support because you wish to have the US intervene in foreign lands to fight tyranny.

I have been consistently opposed to this view, except in cases where vital US interests are at stake. I mentioned the Kurds, etc, to test your consistency, not as an assertion of my own belief that we should trigger World War Three to further the interests of the Kurds.

I think this is where you are getting confused. When I ask you why we should not aid the East Timorese, I am testing your assertion that the US must fight to free peoples everywhere. I am not asserting myself in favor of an East Timor intervention.

So, now that you understand better, you can see why throwing the names of groups at me is irrelevant and ill-conceived. I'm not the one who set us up as "Uncle Sam: Got a fight For Freedom? Call Us, We'll Send Troops."
