Ok, let's make it a given then that I am backpedaling. No problem. You still disagree with me, but the conflict is now contained within certain boundaries.

Maybe to us Taiwan is nothing of significance, and we would probably be better off if they weren't so damned efficent at what they do.

But, it would be a major victory for the communist to take control of Taiwan, that I don't think the party will stop until 2999.

Have you ever listened to the former ambassador to China, James Lilly? He talks very eloquently about the "Big Game". I won't go into it at this time, but basically if China got Taiwan, the game is over.
