Hi RFH, Even though we still have one here at home, the relative decibel level goes down quite a bit when the oldest heads for college.

Yes, luckily while I was parking the van, some stronger backs (and weaker minds) managed to move the majority of the stuff up the three flights of stairs. However, that doesn't make for as good a story!!!

AOL offers something called "Instant Messenger" as a freebee. You don't need to be a member there. I'll be banging away here at the keyboard and my computer will make a noise indicating that my daughter is "on-line." Sure enough, I'll usually spend a few minutes "talking" with her via the keyboard. Between AOL's Instant Messenger and email, we kept in pretty close contact last year.

If you would like to give it a try, just go to AOL's home page and look for the Instant Messenger thingie. Once the software is loaded, you enter the email addresses of your "buddies" and family members and it will let you know when they are signed on. The people who's addresses you enter also need to have the AOL-IM software. I'd describe it as sort of a private "chat room. I believe that Microsoft may have one now, too. Haven't tried their, however.

Best regards, Tom
