Weekend OT
RE: yr.OT

Not to be a monster to the idealists on the thread, but I have no control over the teeming masses currently overwhelming all the fragile ecosystems on this tired globe that are currently crowding out species after species; forcing them into extinction, using up all the available fresh water sources, clear cutting the timber (thus eroding vast tracts of this beautiful planet) and in general throwing nature and weather itself into turmoil.

So primitive people have too many children in barely arable regions unsuitable to large human populations and I should support their decisions and make a bad situation worse?

I don't think so.

Instead I live a frugal life, have no car, one tv, one suit,
eat no foie gras and, in short, use little in the way of natural resources. Yes I'm charitable, but tend to send money to relief (earthquake, hurricane) victims i.e. those who WERE living a viable life but through circumstances beyond their control were tossed into turmoil. That and education (I had no opportunity for secondary education) which I feel can probably benefit all, even our poor planet.
