I hate to see people driving with their dogs in their lap, jumping up on them and down, the driving dealing with their precious dog and trying not to kill anyone on the road. Are these people BRAIN DEAD. And I would add all the young mom's and the stupid grandmother's who drive with little children in their laps. They should all have their license suspended for 30 days. That would get their attention.

And how about the old people who don't know where they are? I would like to see people have to test again to drive at the age of say.......60, then 62, 64, then every year have to pass a driving test to keep their license. And this would cost DMV's more so let the testee's pay a fee. I don't want to get creamed by an old fart who has no business on the road.

Michael, you are right that there should be as few laws as possible, but it should be taken into account (pace Christopher) that many laws are specialized, dealing with such diverse issues as restaurant hygiene, boating safety, and infrastructure authorization, and that in a complex society, with many novelties each year, some growth in legislation is to be expected.....
