Paul, I was in CompUSA today and spoke with 2 sales people about PIII, Celerons, K-6's, and Cyrix CPU's. I was told that the majority of machines sold have the PIII and Celerons and the retail buyers prefer the Intel brand for reliability, quality and performance. I questioned the K-6 and was told that 2 out of 5 sold are returned because of problems with "freeze ups" and they indicate the machines overheat. The salespeople suggested avoiding the K-6 because of the problems and returns and customer disatisfaction. It is obvious that the retail over the counter buyers prefer Intel.
