You know, my parents always told me to say "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me". And they were right. Kids will be kids, you can't go suspending them for calling names. Moreover, I think schools handled it pretty well anyways, giving detentions and denying recess to students who did that. No one wanted to miss out on fun time or stay after school. Maybe it's just me, but it seems things are being taken a bit far. Just like George Carlin says, they're only words.

Kids are gonna call each other something or other, whatever the times dictate. I remember when I was 7 or 8 years old, my mother went to our neighbor all wringing her hands and worried and telling her that she did not know what to do cause we(my brother and I) were running around calling each other "hunky", and she had no idea what that even meant!! . Our neighbor just busted out laughing and told mom that we must have heard it from her cause she always called her husband "hunky" because he was part Hungarian. We had no idea WHAT it meant we just thought it was a cool sounding word to "cuss" with..
