steve,

Yes NT is trouble for games and win95/98 can't use the second cpu. That will all change with win2K, dual cpu capable and direct X6/7.

Of course the Celeron available next year will have the coppermine core, simd and all the goodies, chipsets will support agp 4x, eide dma/66, 100Mhz fsb and such.

Problem is, will Abit make a new MB to handle dual celerons.

Things just keep moving along.

I must correct a mistake I have made.

Pentium 3s have a unique "processor serial number", not a "personal serial number" as I have stated previously.

support.intel.com

"Processor serial number is a persistent, non-modifiable, identifier which applications can use to provide stronger identification of the processor and, with similar identification factors such as username and password, the system and user."

I hope the Coppermine Celeron II doesn't have this feature.

That's how the P3 processor "enhances the internet experience", by providing "identification factors".

Still digging for scraps......
