Unclewest, that is old news. The boards were never released, there was just a shortage of boards and a lot of questions. When this story was released, letting investors know why boards were scarce and that the problem had been solved, AMD stock immediately rose. Since this time Athlon systems have begun showing up in stores like Best Buy. There have been no stability problems.

dan,
would you provide substantiation to your statements.
may i point out that amd just sent the letter out acknowledging the problem on august 21, 1999. give a few days mailing time and most people are just learning why their amd equipped computers won't start. the letter was dated 16 days ago...you call that old news...

the article goes on to talk about the boards in customer hands will be replaced...tell me how the hell they got them if none were shipped.

finally...it says they hope to have a fix soon...what praytell does soon mean to you?

i hope you are 100% correct that amd's stuff has shipped and is being sold everywhere...because none of it works according to this article.
i will consider any counterpoints you have but you must provide links not just emotional rhetoric.
unclewest

here is the story if you forgot the details...
