I am so sorry ... On the second paragraph, yes, maybe so, but it is still surely true that in the 1950s the Latin Mass was the normal case. Wouldn't it be quite silly to assume that hidden concerted movement was needed to turn the Vatican over from within for a Latin Mass movement in the 1950's? That is why I introduced that joke.

Conspiracy theories should be seen as what they are - sometimes plainly dumb, sometimes very creative ways to redefine reality, and sometimes an indication that published news was not near to the truth. Hierarchical and closed structures are prone to suspicions against them or suspicions of other forces secretly at work to intrude them.

It is surely not my matter, and most probably understood anyway, but 'just in case' I would like to say that names alone are not at all sure means to decide ethnicity back in continental Europe. I would be surprised when in Austria any eyebrow would be raised about an Austrian named 'Peresich'.

Regards MNI.
