The best (fastest) according to Ping Plotter may not be the best for you to connect to. This is because our selection process incorporates other factors including server load, number of clients connected to the server etc. So even though Ping Plotter may say one router has the least travel time, that router may be bogged down with lots of clients making heavy requests. You might end up getting *slower* service at the "closest" router.

Also when you use Ping Plotter you may be only getting part of the travel-time picture. You are just measuring the internet travel-time from you to the router, but there may be additional travel time between the router and the server from which it is getting its data. The ContinuumClient 'echo' statistic includes this. Ping Plotter doesn't and can't.

So, again, its best to let Continuum Client decide what's best for you. The only exception, as I said earlier, is if you end up getting connected to a router and the path between you and it is experiencing packet loss. This is where Ping Plotter can help. If you do get such an instance, Ctrl-Alt-N should get you to a better path. But, again, please let us know if you see any packet loss anywhere.
