That's ok, I won't press the matter either. The message you initially responded to in this argument was to pezz anyway, the person who turned one of my totally unrelated topics into a gun argument for no discernable reason. I've heard enough dispute over the Brady Bill to make my head spin, myself...

It's interesting that many people who rush to the argument that because if majority of the people want gun control then it is right to pass gun control laws run from the argument that if a majority of the people want creation "science" taught in schools then it is right to require that creation "science" be taught in the schools.

Not that I favor the latter. But I am not particularly impressed with claims that "the majority" wants this or that. Fortunately, we do not have a pure democracy, but a representative democracy under a constitution. There is protection in both these elements from the tyrrany of the majority.

Have to believe that....

Terrorists deserve more compassion that a law abiding citizen who believes in the Second Amendment.

There's that old feelings thing again. Your position seems to be we ought to do something, anything as long as it makes you feel like you have accomplished something whether or not the facts support the efficacy of the approach and the rights of others be damned. JLA
