Great day today with some of our favorites - RHAT +16; HIFN +10; NTRO +5; CKFR +4! Gotta take a good look at this new product from Lucent. It looks like it might take some of the wind out of the DSL group for awhile. I still haven't found out if CMTN (which was supposedly a partner) is part of this new product the "Stinger". In the press releases I've looked at, a number of companies are mentioned but CMTN wasn't one of them. As I said, the first look at the LU product looks very promising for LU but not so for the others.

HHNT,HOTJ

HHNT was up today 4 5/16 to 18 1/4.
Based on what I heard on CNBC and read Online,I discovered that HHNT is a better company than HOTJ.If HOTJ would continue to go up,I figured so would HHNT.The only fear I had was using up all that margin for HHNT,so I put it in my
Retirement portfolio.
I FEEL LIKE I AM WATCHING what HHNT is going to be like in
one week by watching HOTJ.The quiet periods are exactly 9 days apart.HHNT's quiet period is over on 9/13.
I hope this ride continues.

IPO Pick of the Week

Renaissance Capital's Pick of the Week
Covad Communication in aggressive roll out

By Renaissance Capital
Last Update: 10:06 AM ET Sep 7, 1999

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Because there are no deals scheduled for this
week of September, our IPO of the week is already trading.

In fact, in IPO land, the company could be considered old.

Covad Communications debuted in January of this
year and has taken investors for a veritable
rollercoaster ride since then.

Early on, the stock performed very well given its
leadership position in the hot DSL space.

Later in the year, however, the stock got caught
up in the Internet selloff and was further hurt by regulatory concerns.

All the while, though, Covad has been aggressively rolling out its service
and adding customers. Investors are taking notice once again and with
good reason.

Management is very strong, the market is growing rapidly and it is still in a
leadership position. While the stock will likely remain volatile, it is fast
becoming a leading player in the next generation of Internet service
providers.
