As for the 286, Intel supplied AMD with a complete mask set, so they didn't need to even photocopy them. AMD made 100s or millions off this Intel design (and gave nothing of value in return). For the 386 & 486, AMD copied the microcode where the majority of the backwards engineering effort would have been. So their R&D costs were certainly practically nothing compared to Intel. AMD made many millions off these designs as well. When AMD resorted to their own efforts, without the benifit of copying Intel, they have lost well over 1 $Billion. No AMD processor design has ever return 1 red cent in profits to AMD shareholders.

So you can keep your Florida land. I'm not at all surprised that you have it.
