As far as the particulars of TeraGlobal's solution goes, my understanding is that it will be interoperable with all existing standards (H.323, etc.). Everything I have read recently indicates that the Internet as it exists today is simply not suited for delivering high-quality, real-time videoconferencing. It seems to me that the decreasing cost and increasing availability of high-bandwidth connections, coupled with the massive processing power that can now affordably be put on desktops combine to make affordable real-time multimedia collaboration achievable now. I do not believe that the Internet is capable of delivering these services in its present state.
