HERNDON, Va. (Dow Jones)--Psinet Inc.'s (PSIX) digital subscriber line
service is now available in 21 metropolitan markets.

In a press release Wednesday, the Internet access service provider
said broadband provider Covad Communications Group Inc. (COVD) plans to
reach 40% of U.S. homes and businesses with the service by the end of
2000. The expansion will add 49 metropolitan markets and 19 states.
As reported in April, Psinet signed an agreement with Covad to launch
the digital subscriber line.

Psinet also said Wednesday that it reached similar agreements with
networking solutions company Rhythms NetConnections Inc. (RTHM) and
Network Access Solutions Corp. (NASC).

Psinet entered into a long-term agreement in principle with Network
Access to provide the service throughout the eastern U.S.

Psinet said its Internet Protocol-based global network and digital
subscriber line should be available throughout the U.S. by mid-2000.
