Chaz, I'm breathing normally, through my nose. The indications from Xena A. and a few USA spokespeople is that they'll be dragged in kicking and screaming only if there is wide international support and UN leadership with Australia front running it all.

That seems to be the way it is going.

It was funny seeing live chickens being thrown on the USA warships by tough Aussie guys. Lack of support from the USA after all the support over the whole century by Australia and New Zealand will go down like a lead balloon.

The APEC people are meeting at the Auckland War Memorial Museum. They can walk around and read the thousands and thousands of names on the walls with few families missing.

It's all so appropriate.

The weather is beautiful. A fantastic spring. Let's hope they have great weather for a few days. Warm, sunny and they have some serious business to sort out.

They are trying to concentrate on trade. Well, trade is a derivative of stable political systems, so they better stabilize political systems first.

Since China is the focus, the USA better not muck things up again. They already botched the embassy in Belgrade [unless it was a deliberate message about repressing 'provinces' in which case it has been well managed].

The best outcome is repression of the Indonesian thugs. China into the WTO half an hour later with Unicom and foreign investment all go and cdmaOne on the ran tan.

Then we can all live happily ever after. Let's not have make nice unless it is reciprocated - make nice doesn't work with Nazi or Indonesian thugs or militaristic opportunists [like some Chinese generals].
