Mark Roberts interview replay now on the vcall website. As others have commented, his analysis is actually bullish with a 50% compound growth rate in net income for the next five years, and he says that's a conservative estimate because the company has opportunities to do better than that. His announcement a week or so ago regarding fourth quarter was largely a concern that momentum players were bidding the stock up too fast in expectation of a blowout, and that some shareholders were too exuberant about its price increases. He still thinks Qcom will beat his 4th Q estimates somewhat.

As to handset division, he believes the ASIC business what he concentrates on, that the issue is not whether it makes a lot of money on handsets. He sees the company's strategy as a cdma adoption strategy. Roberts says Nokia is suffering returns from carriers because of ASIC problems. One interesting thing he said is that where free market exists, cdma has always beat out competing platforms.

For those of you new to the stock, the beginning of the interview is an excellent recitation of the company's history--essential to understanding the status of the company and the stock price.
