Bell South is doing a test implementation of Fiber direct to customers houses, 100 houses initially I believe. It flat blows every other
solution out the water. When it comes to delivering bandwidth to the home

Yeah, sure, great for new developments, but do you think their going to tear up the streets to lay new fiber when there is already perfectly good coax? Do you think that customers getting multimegabit ISP access via their MSO will care? By the time the RBOC's figure out what they're going to do it might (and I mean "might") be too late. If T is successful in the local exchange by leveraging TWC and UMG and Roadrunner, then the RBOC's only chance to survive will be align themselves with T...hmmmmmm.... isnt' that where this all started in the early 70's????
