Cute, but inaccurate. For example, the Sandinista government in Nicaragua was never elected by democratic popular vote. One should be sure to get the facts straight when making statements like that, don't you agree?

The idea is to actually mention, with only some exaggeration, beliefs held by the other side. For example, if you said that conservatives thought that Gates was being penalized for success, it would be an exaggeration (since some conservatives are anti-Microsoft), but it would at least describe the beliefs of many. If you said that that conservatives believe that they are fighting a pagan society, that would, again be an exaggeration, but it would be closer to the mark than saying that the think all Americans are Christian. Since few conservatives are against simple gun registration, it may be that the hyperbole of the next point is, well, silly, and it since conservatives don't give the Peace Corps much thought at all, that observation is pretty silly. Gays are not outcasts, but are better educated and make more money than the average; women are not outcasts, but are better represented among Republican office- holders than among Democratic office- holders; and blacks, well, they are better off Republican, as Colin Powell realized. I have never heard a conservative opine that the rich were better off in Canada or Europe (scratches head). Few conservatives think that abortion before the third trimester is murder, manslaughter would be more like it; and few conservatives support police brutality, they are just not as willing to support allegations without due process. Clinton was not impeached for private sexual acts, but for perjury; the Contras were not our enemy; the Sandanistas were not democrats, nor were they deposed, they lost an election forced on them; the Boland Amendment technically did not apply to the National Security Council staff; and before the matter might have been litigated, the Boland Amendment was repealed. The ACLU is too liberal. Only libertarians think that the NRA is too liberal, not mainstream conservatives. Clinton abuses women, period. I never heard similar allegations against Strom. I never heard a conservative claim that racism had nothing to do with socio-economics, nor that people working fourteen hour shifts were lazy. Posting the 10 Commandments will be more effective than national standards for what? Beats me, never heard them discussed together. Most libertarians (the ones who think the NRA is too liberal) are pro- legalization; most conservatives are not, but the discrepancy in sentencing between powder and crack was a result of panic about the crack wars, not racism. As for the health crack, yeah, and we want to starve children and turn families out into the street, thanks for sharing.....I tire of correcting you, and since you begin to lapse into self- parody at this point (e.g., to be a liberal you have to believe that conservatives want to ensure that everyone has a berreta at birth), I will quit....Oh, by the way, plenty of conservatives went to Ivy League schools and got fancy scholarships like the Rhodes, too, so it is neither here nor there.....Some, like Milton Friedman (more a libertarian, but hey, he'll do) even won the Nobel Prize in Economics. Others, like T.S. Eliot, won the Nobel Prize in Literature. So sorry that they are not all Okies from Muskogee.....

Well, let's see, i consider myself a conservative, so:

Bill Gates is trying to monopolize an industry (very naughty),

I respect others' beliefs outside of Christianity,

What kind of punishment do said countries use?

The Peace Corps is no more evil than the CIA (Hmmm... what can we infer from that statement?)

Christianity is based on forgiving sinners, not casting them away (I know, there are hypocrites out there, you think there aren't hypocrites in other religions?)
W
hat? Are the rich MORE oppressed elsewhere? (Since when are the rich oppressed anyway? Maybe get their names dragged through the mud for being successful, but still...)

Police brutality is NOT law enforcement, and it scares me each time I hear of another case.

"private" sexual acts? How about on the job, pal. Don't know about you, but that would get me fired.

The NRA? Liberal?

Racism is based on racism. Plain and simple.

Give those blue collar parents a big tax break so they actual take home closer to what they earn.

No, can't post the ten commandments in schools. Wouldn't want kids to be exposed to something that isn't corrupt...

Using cocaine is stupid, no matter who you are. So just don't do it. Period.

Somehow I don't think wealth and income are that proportionate, or I'd be pretty rich.

Why is it conservatives are responsible for the actions of specific corporations?

I didn't know that... that explains a lot.

Why not pardon crooked ex-presidents? We're pardoning crooked current presidents, after all.

No, all our rights count. That's why we keep saying, even though you never listen, if one is taken away, when will the next be?

I'm sorry, I don't recall having a say on how my tax dollars are spent...

Better than toilet seats.

No more cruel than the pain they've inflicted (and more than likely will inflict again) on others.

But why is it so bad when he says a tax cut won't hurt the debt reduction?

I don't own a gun, I don't think everyone needs a gun, but I do believe in the right to own guns.

Immigrants have done great things in America, but there is a matter of legality for gaining citizenship.

There are laws on registering guns.

If you're speaking of who I think you're speaking of... I'm sorry...

Well here goes...

that Bill Gates and Phil Knight are really misunderstood puppy dogs.

Punish achievers and reward the takers right?

that everyone is an in-the-closet Christian, whether they realize it or not.

Whatever that means...

• that registering guns would never reduce crime in America, even though it's done so in every other industrialized country.

Which countries are you talking about? Kosovo? Somalia? East Timor? Bosnia?

that the Peace Corps is more evil than the CIA.

Neither is evil..

that we should follow Jesus' example by embracing all of society's outcasts; that is, except gays, minorities, and women.

Not to bright are ya?

that the rich are more oppressed here than they are in Europe or Canada.

So that's good? Do you work for a poor guy?

that abortion is "murder," but police brutality is "law enforcement."

I don't know about you but, you run when a cop says stop... all bets are off. Meaning: Don't run!!

that's it's OK to impeach a president for private sexual acts between consenting adults, but it's not OK to impeach one for secretly shipping weapons to our enemies against Congressional mandate, then using the profits to depose a democratically-elected government by slaughtering thousands of innocent civilians.

I though he was impeached for lying to the grand jury..

that the ACLU is too liberal... and so is the NRA.

Huh????????

that Clinton is more chauvinist than Strom Thurmond

You said it, not me....

that racism has nothing to do with socio-economics.

Nope, I think stupidity has more to do with it.

that the two blue-collar parents working 14-hour shifts just to stay above poverty are somehow "lazy."

When in 1958 a family of 4 was paying 4% in income tax and now that same family is paying 24%... Who do we have to blame for that? Hint: They were in power for 40 years.

that posting the Ten Commandments in school hallways would be more effective than static national standards.

Which commandment crimps your style bud?

• that when you're white, using cocaine is "a youthful indiscretion." When you're black, it's a minimum of 20 years behind bars.

I say minimum of 20 years behind bars for all...

that your health should be directly proportional to your income.

Maybe you should pay for your own insurance before you go and buy the 2nd car or new boat.. I see it all the time..

that protecting the environment would cost too many jobs in the essential timber and industrial waste industries.

And this just when we hear of the fire hazard the Pacific NorthWest is because of the over population of trees in the forests.. Didn't you watch the news on your favorite Lib Channel Tuesday?

that the UN is run by whiny third world dictators, frivolous accountants, former Haight-Ashbury hippies, and U2.

Yep, Morons everyone of them..

that we should pardon crooked ex-Presidents, but not reformed non-violent political prisoners or born-again Christians.

Again--- Huh?

that the Second Amendment is the only one that really matters.

Haven't you read the 9th Amendment? Do you even know what the 9th says? Probably not...

• that tax money is better spent on $10,000 toilet seats than on social programs for the underprivileged.

Well a least someone worked to manufacture the toilet seat... What did the "underprivileged" do to deserve the money?

that this same money would be even better spent on the School of the Americas.

OK you keep spending more and more money on kids that can't read their diplomas..

that a malfunctioning electric chair known to set convicts on fire is not "cruel and unusual punishment."

I wonder what their victims think...They don't call it old sparky for nothing..

that when Alan Greenspan recommends tax cuts, he's rational. When he recommends debt reduction, he's waffling.

Typical liberal... You don't even know what he said do you.. You listened to what the lapdog press said he said right?

• that our long term goal should be to issue everyone a 9mm Baretta at birth.

No way Bud!!!!! Smith & Wesson MADE IN AMERICA ... Anyway, it works for the Swiss doesn't it?

that immigrants have never done any good for us European-Americans.

Sure they do.. I have them mow my lawn, clean the house, watch the kids, etc etc etc

that racial profiling is "common sense police work."

Can't argue with success...

that registering guns is a Constitutional violation, while registering your car or registering to vote isn't.

I'm pretty sure they all are, but only the guns really matter..

And above all, you must believe...

• that a Rhodes scholar and Yale Law School graduate is somehow less intelligent than you are.

Well he again you get caught believing what the lapdog press feeds you...

If I'm not mistaken, he left Rhodes before he graduated... So he isn't a Rhodes Scholar..

You see POPmuse, it's a little harder to come up with ideas from scratch, rather than copy someone else's.. So why don't you go on over to RB... You'll find people there more on par with your intellect..

Thank You
C
