<<but even your claim that they are about on par with everyone else belies the idea of pervasive discrimination impinging on them.....>>

Because most are in the closet where they work. Remember in most areas of the country they can be fired for being gay. Would you come out if you were in their shoes? Even I have only told one person at work about my kids. So I am in the closet (so to speak) where I work. Why don't I come out? No guts!!! But I am working on it.

Pretty shabby statistical analysis, Neocon. A few problems --- before you can run a decent sampling study you need a "frame" from which to draw your sample. The U.S. Census spends a bundle building a list of housing units from the population sample can be drawn. Do you know where we could get a list of homosexuals? Second, a matter of definition: what is a homosexual? Preference? Exclusive sexual release? Bisexual? I believe almost everything that is said about the economic condition of homosexuals is unreliable.
Finally, does the questionable fact that homosexuals make roughly as much as non-homosexuals mean that homosexual lawyers, accountants, physicians, and professors are not discriminated against?
