To All,

Last year I had some friends and family thinking about the potential disaster with Y-2K.

Now with all these positive press releases they are not concerned.

Yesterday I had a wood stove installed for a backup and my wife asked me not to tell anyone why.

I believe she's a little embarrassed ! Still in all that maternal instinct likes what I am doing. She will never take the protection of our family for granted.

Now I really, really hope that Cheeky is correct!

I DO! I DO!

But if we have any significant problems, such as no electric for a week, people will die.

It gets cold in the winter. People do not think clearly and tend to do stupid things.

This positive press we are all starting to hear is very nice!

I hope they realize by saying don't worry, be happy, that they have a large responsibility for peoples' health and welfare if they are wrong.

I do not want a panic either, but if they are wrong, there will be a lot of needless suffering.

Comments anyone?

How do you feel now?

Is there a storm coming?

Or are you reassured?

Jeff, let me know how you like the Katadyn...

We're enjoying our "Berkie" and what was more amazing was that it passed my wifes discerning tastes (she drinks bottled water).

I found when I first used it though, that you needed to run several batches of water through it to clear out any residual dust left in the ceramic filters when they were ground to shape.

Either way, you'll never have to pack drinking water with you again when you go camping.

Regards,

Ron
