The stock split, to be effected in the form of a 100% stock dividend, will be payable September 24, 1999 to shareholders of record on September 3, 1999.

I'm not sure how this works. If you bought stock after the third, do you not get the split? If so shouldn't this have dropped the price on the 4th?

I've always wondered about this, too. Doesn't the stock just trade the same way, but with due bills?

Sid,

I am sorry to say I am not sure how the trading works between September 3rd and September 24th. Teradyne had the same situation when it split a few weeks ago and its share price on the NYSE was not adjusted for the split until the payable date which seemed strange. A few folks mentioned that on their discussion board also but I never saw a good explanation. If someone knows I would appreciate a explanation also. Either way, it will be interesting to see how the stock reacts after the split. Cohu could benefit from the additional liquidity.

Good luck!
