We were talking about an Index, Charley -- the prototype of which, of course, is/was the Catholic Church's Index of Forbidden Books. And we all know what can happen to books that land on anyone's index. No doubt I should have added a <g>, but, as I noted in one post to you...

I sense you are pulling my leg, O Emperor...

...I didn't think you were entirely serious, and assumed you would not take my response seriously, either.

Apparently you did:

I do get amused getting called a book burner. By such an astute
personage to boot! The only person I might have went overboard on is Darwin, I do not think he was malevolent, but his ideas gave riseto that unseemly business of eugenics and all that followed. When liberal myths and icons are attacked, name calling is the usual response.

If that "astute personage" is not me, who is it, then? I did not see any posts calling you names. Did I overlook something?

By the way, Banned Books Week is coming up (September 25-Oct. 2). Check it out:

Also, an interesting little list of books that have been banned for everything from "racism" (Huckleberry Finn!) to "improper language" (For Mice and Men!).
