AIRPORT!! I went to the apple site, & it looks SCARY. This thing, although slower(11 megs /second) is retailing for $299!!!!!(base station; receiver costs $99). And Apple announced a product (imac laptop) that incorporates this device. However, that page claims that Airport is based on the ieee 802.11 dsss standard. Do they owe wi-lan loyalties in this case, or is wi-lan simply beaten to the mkt by a goliath? IMO this is not consistent with the optimistic remarks of Philips' executive.

Jaskay,

Of course buying a fab is possible; but at this stage, highly improbable. Wi-LAN is trying to build a relationship with a semiconductor company to cover our fab requirements in the medium term.
