ok techriders this is off topic but I need help....I am doing a residential subdivision and need three street names and a name for the subdivision...so far I am not happy with the ideas we have in the cooker......I don't want to tell you the candidates thus far as I would like some fresh ideas...we were thinking something Italian but any ideas would be welcome... "buygnet" has a sort of ring to it...I passed this by my wife but she didn't go for it....I tried Go2Net Road but no dice.... needs to get her approval...only have about two weeks left to decide...thanks

Joe, Thanks for the congrats on the Yellow Dog Pup, I sure was proud of him. It reminded me of when the Old Yellow Dog was a pup. Nothing less that a 110% at all times. Good thing I nailed the Teal when I did, it was 30 degrees here all day. Those birds would be in Mexico by now. 909S BLUE

Good Evening Joe!

Welcome home. I am going to answer a couple of posts you made to me while I was sleeping the other night.

Re T-1 Networking: We have a T-1 line at work - there are a little over 400 workstations networked. At the beginning of the day and late in the day it is lightening fast. During the peak periods it REALLY slows down. Do you think our network staff should be able to tweak it for better performance. Good luck on the lesson you will give tomorrow!

Re Kinky Friedman: In the late 60s he had a rock and roll band called "Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys." Needless to say, it didn't become very famous. He did get to play a few gigs with Dylan though. Anyway, in recent years he has become known for his writing. One review says, "Friedman can be poetic, hilarious, philosophical or crude--all within one paragraph.... In the spirit of Hunter S. Thompson or Jack Keroauc." Perhaps the fact that I think his writing is hilarious shows that I have a twisted sense of humor. <ggg> Kinky is in Austin a lot, but basically splits his time between living in a trailer on his father's ranch in Kerrville, Texas, and living in a loft in Greenwich Village. I like the books set in Greenwich Village the best. He has a cat that is more responsible than he is. He is 53 years old and by his own admission has never worked a day in his life, unless you count the two years he spent in the Peace Corps in Southeast Asia.

I will be up late tonight working on some work I brought home for the weekend. You were smart and did yours on Friday night! I guess I work better under pressure. LOL!

Good Luck,

909s Peach

Joe, Joanie, you are right about California's University system. Excellent! Cal State University at Long Beach here. My husband, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Welcome back Joe, trust you had an enjoyable weekend.

Magic, yep....can't you just see the sparkle of the dust that is sprinkled every time you walk in here. It glitters, shines and has a delightful tone to go with it.
