Vic-

I agree with most of your statements. And though Windows CE maybe tough to develop for, it should be much easier than PS2, at least according to developers we've spoken to.

One thing's for certain: 2000 will be very interesting for the industry. Not only will Dreamcast have either proven itself or busted, but the PS2 will launch, the Nintendo Game Boy Advance will launch, and perhaps MSFT's X-Box will be released. And shortly thereafter, the Dolphin will arrive.

I assume that THQ could translate its leadership in GBC to the Advance platform. It would be a good strategy to target this upcoming platform.

Todd

Vic good post. I also believe it is way premature to be burying the Dreamcast 4 days after its release. There is a huge gamers market out there that continues to grow rapidly. There is such a thing as co-existence. When Sony's new box is released (I'm suspicious of the announced release dates as a bit of a ploy on Sony's part to diminish the fanfare DC is currently receiving) the DC may not be selling for $199.00 either. What is Sony's box going to sell for? $300+?

Vic, gamers are going to get the games. Sony will sell the games first. The blitz on the other goodies won't be played up until Sony establishes that this is first a GAME MACHINE. And you know, Sony is no 3DO. Just my opinion.
