I think you are right. It as we cross over into more flexibility in the securities industry, the advent of the net trade and a populous who doesn't even know what a 10k is our exposure is very great.

As banking laws change to allow more leverage and less security the tax structure changing to accommodates said, our saving rate has almost become zip. The end result it we really have ourselves in total risk oriented position.

There was so much written about why Japan could not create immediate growth. Her savings on personal were solid however tho her debt base re banking industry was not. We have a whole nation that relishes personal debt, credit and over extension and a system that punishes moderation and advocates high risk.
