Ed:

Look at the performance over the last five years. And, the fundamentals are still strong, so that is why many of us are still hanging in there. Dell is not finished. We are all spoiled, but Dell still has a great deal of growing to do. Patience is difficult, but you will not be sorry! Leigh

ed..re: "greatest thing since sliced bread"

maybe the market is on a low carb diet, and prefers the high protein of companies who have stated future growth and vision beyond the pc.........dell still hasn't!

just a few days ago comments were made of how dell would capture the storage market and decimate the deeply entrenched players....guess they didn't convince the market....

until major news to change the "perception" of dell the company, dell the stock will languish in a range...

would like to see what the "experts" give as reason for the less then stellar performance this year...they can't blame the fed,or unfriendly analysts...probably just point fingers at all the fools who refuse to "buy more dell"...

Ed, re:<<My question to them is why does the stock stay flat for so long if its the greatest thing since sliced bread?>> I believe the answer is the high pe, and the Street waiting to see if Dell can maintain its performance as shown in the last quarter. I would not be surprised to read that money is starting to flow back into Cpq. All things considered, Cpq is a pretty cheap stock. However, I'm sure not recommending that anyone buy it just yet. Its interesting to note that while Dell sits there doing very little for seven months, Gtw has had a great run-up.

Stock Bull

PS: Because I share your concern with Dell's performance, I sold 2/3 of my holdings in Dell just after the last run-up.
