edamo,

Obviously you and Ed Forrest haven't been receiving the Dell Deity newsletter. I'll put you both on the list and send a loaf of bread to boot. You guys can then tell which is the greatest thing.

Yours in range bound trading,
C Nelson

>>fools who refuse to "buy more dell"... <<
Ed
I guess people just won't buy a ticket to see an "over the hill star".
PS.It's no longer "fools", genius is the new buzzword.

"would like to see what the "experts" give as reason for the less then stellar performance this year...they can't blame the fed,or unfriendly analysts...probably just point fingers at all the fools who refuse to "buy more dell"... "

look at the mf buys/sells for the past six months relative to Dell. one would have to assume that those significant large funds decreased their position when Dell was in the $36 to $40 range. Yet Dell has managed to pack ahead to $47+. it is my belief they'll be back, as always, buying back in at higher prices - as they've nearly always done with Dell in the past. today's action was more of the same. mutuals farting around. this isn't mere conjecture on my part; just speaking to a few in the field.

edamo - Re <<<change the "perception" of dell the company>>>

I have to admit I'm starting to shift towards your camp...I hadn't seen DELL as overbought, but it certainly has traded that way. No ability to follow through on the momentum from a decent up day tells me the mentality on DELL is still to sell upticks. Until there is a significant technical breakout from this trading channel, it's nothing more then a range bound stock at best...I agree that the perception of DELL the company certainly contributes to the stocks lack luster performance...

RE: just a few days ago comments were made of how dell would capture the storage market and decimate the deeply entrenched players
DELL has started to take the first steps to build the capability to compete in the storage business. Meanwhile, EMC, concerned that their lack of a systems business (and therefore no access to the server-side hooks) could blunt their SAN growth, decides to invest a billion dollars in software to counter that issue and develop a total SAN infrastructure. That's the way a major player defends turf... and why it will be hard for DELL to threaten the big players in that space.

Ed,

I also don't see anyone over here talking about the DRAM market lately. MU up 6 today, and prices are way up compared to just a couple weeks back. Don't know what type of contracts Dell has, but maybe 'just in time' might work in reverse here if this is more than a short term event...

Regards,
John

Eddie.... don't be greedy...

...until major news to change the "perception" of dell the company, dell the stock will languish in a range...

Your an options player. You know that there is short term money to be made on a range trading stock, so this is good..... unless of course your trying to burn from both ends.... greedy, greedy, greedy.
