Nice day. This issue earns its MONSTER Beta every day it seems. Back around Aug 13th AMAT closes at 69 and continued lower. Even before that I was opining here:

BUT, this type of GENERAL 'widely applied' scare of a whole industry declining for years can really bang down prices if enough are swayed. In my younger, shorter-term days this would be enough to shake out of a long position, watch it trend lower, pat myself on the back, then miss 10 point runnup month later as market apparently 'digested' disaster scenario with ease and replaced it with newest high-tech outlook deserving 50x multiples minimum. I'd like to think we all have a decade+ outlook now. So shake as they might, nothing will bring down my coconuts to the ground dwellers below.

Well, make that a 12 1/2 point runnup in a month and we have a WIDE margin on the forward P/E. I mean we're still a long way from 50 right Brian <g>?
