Back in the late 80s or early 90s Ben Rosen offered to sell CPQ to then AAPL CEO John Sculley.

AAPL is sitting on over 3 billion $$ in cold hard cash (not floating stock or options, or assets other than cash). They could buy/partner part of Compaq. Imagine award winning functionality and industrial design of AAPL in CPQ boxes!
