Perhaps the market is afraid of the rumoring about a TLAB acquisition of CIEN. Sigh. Please, not again. The dilution to TLAB's earnings will be ugly if this rumor is true. With changes to the accounting for acquistions coming next year, it is now or never for TLAB to make acquisitions. I believe this is why TLAB is selling off. Funny thing is that LU doesn't trade this way before their outrageously overpriced acquisitions.

CIEN is trading at it's current price because they are an acquisition candidate. CIEN is such a great company that its sales and earnings are down materially on a comparative basis from last year.

Shafik Habal, As a note of general interest, I have for several weeks been checking Island quotes for Tlab. It has shown significantly more orders to sell than to buy each time I checked. Island records level two activity and shows small investor current orders. I translate this to mean current momentum.
As to current price, I agree. Pull backs of this magnitude have presented good entry points over the last few years. Only last year did I note a significantly greater percentage drop before recovery and that was Ciena induced.
Good luck to all,
Robert
