Could be. Sure one hell of a way to go about it though.

But I guess they don't care because it primarily is foreign money that's been boosting the Nikkei (read US money or at least that is my take on it).

I don't think it has been the average Japanese investor who has been responsible for the Nikkei's recent strength.

Could this be distribution on the part of Japanese investors in order to shackle us foolish Americans with their overpriced stocks before they slam us??

All kinds of neat scenarios one can visualize.
