Datek like any other on line broker has it's good days and it's bad days. lately it's been good. really good. quick fills, servers working well. For me datek has 3 fundemental things that the others lack: 1 cheap commissions 9.95 / trade 2 real time level 1 streamer data (this is worth having a 2K datek account even if you have another broker 3 Now you can trade after hours AND even the pre-market. With the new direction of ecn's pooling together this should also provide increased liquidity. oh, a 4th plus is that datek's margin ability lets you use the proceeds from a sale on the same day. Other brokerages don't let you buy' the same stock until the next day or something weird like that. confusing. Datek is straightforward. I'd say go for it.
