WALL STREET WEATHER ADVISORY - All NY & NJ SCHOOLS CLOSED TODAY and probably will be closed Tomorrow. It's been raining steadily all night and floods and "high winds of 20-40 mph which could exceed 50mph with higher gusts (yeah like by how much, let's not say 135 mph PUH-LEEZE)" are predicted until tomorrow morning with accompanying power outages and floods. It's a Tropical Storm Warning for NYC and a Hurricaine Warning for Long Island and the Jersey Shore. They say the waves are real big already. The newscasters are simply giving facts in a casual tone so that tells ya right there how bad it is.
IMHO The Market Effect w/b the same as on days of heavy snowstorms; not enough ops around for big manips so pure volumes and pps formulas will drive it simple today just like the good old days. If things get real bad who knows what will happen tomorrow, if NY Markets would close or if Chicago etc. would take over or what. There hasn't been A Big One hitting this area in a long time, none since it's been computerized like it is now. This might even be a bit worse than two blizzards in three days was.
Glad you're back to your glorious Home state which we'll now call Puna-Land U Lucky Duck. I'll work on another classics index soon, we got some more categories now too. Can't do it today, getting started putting batteries in flashlights and a radio, filling water bottles, duct taping some storm window braces and plastic shields, checking the yards for loose projectiles around, setting us up to sleep in the hall away from the windows, packing overnight bags just in case (those closed schools would be the emergency centers), moving some junk in the basement out of the way of some inches of water that might be getting down there later, etc. No stocks no rock & roll today for me, and if power goes out so does my computer til it's back, ugh. But we'll be alrite, we're far enough inland and got enough hills around to shield us from the worst of Floyd i hope.

Puna!

Welcome back. I have missed your great posts. I am sorry to hear you didn't get to take back the great fish that would see you through *2*! Oh, well, you live in paradise so I am sure you will do fine. (I have heard it is paradise -- I've never seen it.) Maybe someday I will see it for real.

As for a report on my summer -- it was just like my winter -- work! Well, one thing was different, in August we had 22 days over 100 degrees! Yuck. Oh, one more thing, I seem to be getting a little better with my stocks. I've received some great instruction...

Take care,
