...The buddy system is alive and well...

Robert, you are 100% right about that. I feel this is going to be the demise of America. Promoting people for WHO they are rather than WHAT they are. Big time Anti-drug people who sop up scotch all evening, former cop-lawyers that are appointed University Presidents because they did a 'favor' for the governor...

My wife is a 1st grade teacher, and it exists even there,... the 'elite' of the community want the 'elite' 1st grade teacher, not because she's a good teacher, but because she's an 'elite' or goes to the same church or her daddy is the bank president. Or the kid that always gets the breaks because his dad happens to be on the school board... This creates 'cliques' of kids that are 'alike' and despise and taunt anyone that is 'different'. THAT is what caused Columbine (IMO). The school principals allow it to happen, because, they too are sucking up... how else can one get a job that pays $1000 a week, supervising 30 or 40 people that are doing a job that they've NEVER DONE.

It's the "Peter Principle" people are promoted and promoted until they reach their level of inefficiency.

It is indeed a formula for disaster.

Agreed..I dislike the nepotism system as much as anyone..I do not believe anyone has any idea how effective the FBI was
managed under J Edgar Hoover..Clyde Tolson the assistant Director would not necessarily have done as good a job as
J.Edgar Hoover but he would have been one hell of a lot better than Grey and the Justice Department would not have a grip on this agency..Lisa
