I don't own one either. I'll probably buy a DVD player for my parents this Christmas. For myself--maybe early next year. I keep thinking I should wait until it records so I can chuck my VCR at the same time, but I know that's still some time away...

Also have Creative PC DVD Dxr 2 in my desk top PC; purchased January, 1998.

Really enjoy both of them.

I just bought a Pioneer DV-525 this afternoon from COSTCO.
It costs me $269, but there's no C-CUBE chip inside.
