FredE,
With BRCM's recent announcements of LAN trancievers/switching products, how dependent upon the STB biz do you think BRCM really is going forward? Seems they want to supply the home and enterprise LAN not just STB which will carry narrow margins once they hit the retail shelves. You know, sign up for our service and we'll give you everything you need FREE! Oh, you want to network 2 computers, your phones, lights, and toaster, well we have a NIC here (with BRCM chips inside) that we sell for an extra?.?.?.?> Higher margin, add on sales.

BTW. Forgetting about the fundies for a minute, what do your tealeaves say?

What does this mean to BRCM?

As someone else already asked - Is Sony a BRCM customer?
Is there any upside to BRCM with this Cablevision deal? Does anyone know?

Any explanation why BRCM dropped $1 on one of the best NASDAQ days in recollection? Other chips did quite well.

I don't know a lot about BRCM. I own it and I know it is going to be volatile. I believe there is great opportunity with this stock. I am interested in keeping up to date on BRCM and RELEVANT events/theories/explanations for some of the rather dramatic swings it is sure to continue to have. This thread seems to have a lot of people posting things which are not relevant or of much use. Since we all want the same thing (unless you are shorting), does it not make sense to have relevant posts and not waste people's time? Just a thought.

Happy trading. ;}
