NW: Glad 2 hear U have weathered the storm, so 2 say. The dam story was really KlassiK tv news reporting. First they get on and say the dam is on the verge of collapse and evacuation of a huge swathe of Delaware County south of Springton is underway. Then they report from the scene that authorities have pushed them back from the dam and wont let them near it!!!! This is followed by interviews with the Marple police who are saying: Run for your lives!!!!! Well at this point we are getting a little nervous here in Swarthmore. THen they report that 50 tons of cement have been rushed to the scene and poured into the crack -- but it did not work! Engineers were then supposedly on the spot trying to figure what to do next. Then more Marple police: RUn for your lives!! Finally some Delaware County Emergency Management officials are tracked down and they say, Well there is hope that the dam will be patched. Finally the president of the water company sez there is no crack, there is no cement; what's this all about? The only concern, sez he, is that the reservoir is so full, too much water may come over the spillway and homes in the immediate area might be flooded. So then Jim Gardner, Action News Anchor, gets on and sez, well, not to defend ourselves, but we were only reporting what the Marple Township police were telling us. Blah blah blah. Meanwhile half a million people are in a panik because of some alarmist cop in a peanut suburb. And all the electronic media report it as gospel. And Matt Drudge is supposed to be a corrupting influence on the news media???? M2 PS I should add that Fox news, even after it was known that there was no crack and no danger of collapse, LED their late nite news report with the line: Suburban Dam about to Burst!!! And the report, which briefly noted there was actually no problem at all, went into great detail about what MIGHT have happened IF the report had been TRUE. UN-BE-LIE-VA-BLE!!!!!!!!!
