Never held a majority, as far as I know. I found some 1997 data showing that Quantum and all affiliates combined held 8.75 million shares. Current SEC filing (3/31/99) show Capital Research holding 9.75 million shares (5.8%) and T. Rowe Price at 9.298 million shares (5.6%). Nothing related to Soros is reported, therefore his holdings must now be under the 5% reporting requirement.

P.S. Found another SEC report, shows Soros holding 6,662,534 shares, which is ONLY 4.26% - neither super, nor a majority ;)
