Mike - In one way I feel that we have all been misled by management. ... I guess we will have to trust them again.

Couldn't resist putting those two parts of your message next to one another as an explanation of my studied neutrality on this deal. I believe in 'informed trust'. While I tend to lean towards your view, nobody is perfect as you just pointed out. Thus, I want to see actual info on true-margins/sell-off-accretiveness and plans to deal with loss of feedback between handset and ASIC divisions. In the past Qualcomm has been much more informative/open than the vast majority of companies, and IMO this is one of the reasons the stock has done so well recently. I imagine they will do the same again, and I'm waiting.

PS FWIW, I think it is almost inconceivable that Dr. J. actually intentionally misled us on the handset margins. If there was any misleading done it was probably of the 'corporatation as an entity' type.

PPS A completely gratuitious note: Dr. J. has, in some ways, what must be one of the neatest jobs on the planet. But offsetting that, everyone sees all of his mistakes. I'm sure my professional career wouldn't look too good under a similar spotlight, and I surely would not enjoy the comments from schmuks like me.
