Peter--answer this one please. If Earthlink has been charging customers about 19 dollars a month and has not yet shown a profit, how long can a "free" ISP stay in business before it croaks??? Earthlink has "some" income other than the 19 dollar fee and is trying to obtain more. But I doubt that they can ever obtain the whole 19 dollars from another source to pay for the service. I have one other question---- If you were a company that did want to subsidize an ISP by advertising, wouldn't you advertise on Earthlink where the users apparently have a little money rather than advertise on a "free" ISP where the user is trying to get something for nothing??
