Scott,

I would like to see a daily mechanical trading system contest, with trading only once a day (open or close). The idea would be for everyone to learn what systems really work and get some idea of what other people are doing. This could be anything from moving average cross-overs, Candlesticks, Pitchforks, Point and Figure to user programmed Tradestation/Metastock systems to Neural nets, Advanced Get, etc. People can post their ongoing results and perhaps graphics on an eboard open to everyone. It would be up to each person to update their trades and spreadsheet, taking away a lot of the considerable work you had to do as organizer.

Thanks again for your hard work on these contests.

Scott,

Thanks much for all the hard work and effort you put into the contest. I'm sure it was a valuable experience for all involved.

I would be glad to organize and manage the next contest, and would like it to begin next monday, Sept. 27th, and end October 31st. I would like to limit the number of participants to 8, unless at least 16 are interested... then it would be capped at 16. Participants must be willing to assist in reporting and tracking, though slightly less than 1/2 will actually do so, and will be chosen by random process. I would also like to limit the number of trades to 4 buys and 4 sells per day to make each decision more meaningful to those involved and those following along.

If you are behind me on this, let me know. Prior contestants will have first right of refusal for the entries in the new contest.
