If the ensuing data requests are at continuous increments of the starting address, rambus has a big advantage in that it can stream data continuously at double the speed of PC100 once the latency delay has completed.

dan,
please help a non-nerd, non-techie.
feel free to shoot from the hip...i would like to get this completely clear in my mind from your point of view...i even promise not to respond...i would sincerely appreciate getting your's and anyone else's point of view on this.

if it seems like a dumb question "please" consider the source, shrug, and answer it anyway.

if rmbs has an extra 10ns delay getting started and a ns is 1 billionth of a second, how often would you expect to get that delay in say office 2000?...or a graphics intense game?

if after that delay, rmbs is faster...how long will it take rmbs to make up for a 10ns initial delay in the same kinds of programs.
