I am catholic. I don't think any religion should proselatize (sp?) I also believe, learned at school, and studied anthropolgy. Just because your religion follows the new testament, does not mean that you don't see the links between homonids. Could you be confusing creationists with Christians? Creationists believe the Bible word for word. For example, a creationist believes that the first two people on Earth were called Adam and Eve. That one day there was nothing, then a week later it was all there. See... I'm catholic..got that... but when I read the story of adam and eve , you know what I see? A parable about life. It's a story. You start out in life completely dependant on God (your parents) they give you everything that you need (garden of life) as you grow older you begin to test boundries like climbing stairs at 1. As you get older you become more defiant, more of an individual. You start saying "no" You try to stay out past curfew. You do things that your parents have forbidden (Eat the Apple) Eventually you are cast out of paradise (Time to move out of the house) USually between 18 - 25 at that point you think you know it all. Later you realize, Mom and Dad weren't so dumb (Adam makes peace with God) ------------------------------------------------------------------ Many ways to interepret the Bible. Who's right? I guess you have to die to find out. But.. I also know that the Earth was created some 6 Billion years ago, when the Correct conditions happened. Now.. Here is where Science and religion hit a common ground. Once upon a time the earth was this large floating rock. Volcanoes, storms, etc. No life. Now, in order for life to begin, some 14 amino acids have to come together at just the right perfect temperature, with the right amount of moisture, and electricity (lightning) is also needed in the mix... The crux is this, not all of the 14 aminos are from Earth. they had to come from space. Namely from asteriods or commets, etc. Who knows how the missing aminos got here. Thing is this. IF you look at the conditions that were necessary Billions of years ago to make a simple life form..the permentations are mind boggling. It shouldn't have happened. Not in a trillion years. There are just too many ingredients and conditions needed in the soup all happening at just the exact perfect time.... But...It did happen... So...As a scientist, you would have to say..this shouldn't have happened but it did happen, somehow....so to not believe in a higher power..is sheer foolishness...somehow someway something made this all happen.. (BTW all of the conditions have been recreated in a Lab, and guess what, they couldn't get it to work, to make the simple one celled life form) So, 6 billion years ago, against all odds, little Chloraphil one celled life showed up...then the sun came out...the cell started filering Co2, making O2, next thing you know, we're making life soup... Man is just too stupid to make heads or tales of all of this... IT all comes down to faith and hope.... What do you believe and hope for?
