Conservative product releases are the niceties afforded by technology leaders - which Intel was. Once you are in a tight horse race or worse yet, running second, these things go out of the window.

It will be interesting to see how Intel will be doing product releases under pressure. So far PIII-600 was weak, Camino, on 27th, is looking like pretty darned weak, and now we are waiting for signs of strength on CuMine. I personally think next few quarters are going to tell a lot about Intel and how it competes under pressure. Let's see.
