Hey, you're not talkin' to yourself... You're just talkin' to a bunch of quiet people...(-:

Let's see... I just made what will probably be the last batch of pesto to go into the freezer this year. I've made a couple of bottles of purple basic vinegar as well, and am just going out to pick the last of that basil for one more bottle. To me, it's as valuable as some great wine... Love it on salads and in some other things in winter.

Made peach butter, dills, mixed vegetable pickles last week. I don't have a good orchard, so I just bought a bushel of apples and will make some apple butter this week. Garden wasn't too great this year... incredibly dry up in my neck of the woods. I've been talking to a few people with commercial gardens and they said it was a bummer of a year too, so I don't feel so bad. One good thing though... I got enough Jacob's Cattle beans dried to last me the winter...(-:

Oh, and nope, I've never tried making apple sauce with raisins. I'm more of an apple butter person...

Later,
