Anything over 8MB is most likely assigned to 3D rendering..of no use in 2D.

I agree with you about 2D performance of a vid card. In fact, since the G400 is proving problematic in its infancy and delivery dates keep getting extended I am going to pick up a couple of the old Millennium IIs to hold me over as I heard they can be had for $30+-. They were considered the top 2D card in their day and I'll bet most of the advancements of todays cards have been in 3D.

Matrox web site indicates the MIll II supports up to 4 monitors. Am I correct in assuming if a card advertizes multi-monitor support it can be run in a multi environment under NT?

"128MB is a significant amount of RAM. It may not be a bottleneck for you. Give us a few more details about your system. NT or Win95/98? and what processor? and how do you connect to the Internet 56K modem or DSL..cable modem? Hardrive speed and how full?"

I have a PII 400Mhz machine with Windows '98 1st edition and IE5. I am connecting to the internet via a cable modem and typically have download speeds of approximately 250Mb/s. System performance indicates that I am running with about 60% of my System Resources free.

Hope this helps.
